INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY SERVICE \u2013 BUSINESS MANAGEMENT BINUS ONLINE<\/p>\n

Singapore, June 22, 2025<\/strong> \u2013 On a sunny Sunday afternoon, the spirit of entrepreneurship and empowerment came alive at ICSA House Singapore as approximately 40 Indonesian migrant workers gathered for a special international community service session. This impactful event was jointly organized by Media Transformation Ministry Ltd and the Community Empowerment Departement of Bina Nusantara University, under the leadership of Retno Dewanti, S.Si., M.M., Ph.D and her team. There are 5 lecturers from Bina Nusantara University invited to share their knowledge and experience. Dr. Lianna Wijaya was the representative from Management Department, Binus Online, Bina Nusantara University.<\/p>\n

The event, held on June 22, 2025, was part of Business Management Binus Online ongoing mission to support Indonesian migrant workers in harnessing their potential and building alternative income streams while working abroad. The focal point of the session was the practical and increasingly popular concept of “Jastip” (Jasa Titip) \u2013 a form of informal commerce where individuals earn extra income by helping others purchase goods from abroad.<\/p>\n

Dr. Lianna introduced the Jastip model as a viable microbusiness strategy, explaining its low start-up cost, operational flexibility, and potential for profitability. \u201cJastip is more than just a side hustle. It\u2019s a stepping stone toward financial independence and future entrepreneurship,\u201d she emphasized. Throughout the session, the participants \u2013 most of them domestic workers \u2013 engaged enthusiastically, sharing their personal experiences and ideas. Dr. Lianna highlighted key strategies for running a successful Jastip business, including how to build trust with customers, manage orders effectively, and leverage social media platforms for marketing.<\/p>\n

Many attendees were excited by the opportunity to apply what they learned. \u201cThis gives us real hope. We can start small, even with our limited time and resources,\u201d one participant shared. By the end of the afternoon, the room was filled with optimism, inspiration, and newfound motivation. Dr. Lianna concluded the session by encouraging participants to stay connected, share their progress, and continue learning. \u201cEvery small step counts. With consistency and creativity, Jastip can open doors to bigger possibilities,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

As the seminar concluded, to mark the end of the meaningful session, all participants and organizers gathered for a group photo \u2014 a keepsake of shared learning, encouragement, and new beginnings. The photo captured the collective spirit of growth and connection that defined the afternoon.<\/p>\n
